I was raised Catholic, born again in 1978, and became a diligent student of the Word. From the start I began to notice a disconnect between what I saw in the Word and what I saw in modern "church." This bothered me for many years but I dutifully went along while secretly yearning for a "church" experience that looked like the book of Acts. In 2020 I graduated from Charis Bible College. I had already begun to encounter many former church goers who believed in God and remained interested in spiritual things but were turned off by the Church. I wondered what I could do to bring them back. Eventually, I sensed God's call to "Gather My scattered saints", people whom God had not forgotten, and decided to start a house church which I believed could be part of the solution. The next year, after a divorce, I met my wife Amy, moved to Indianapolis and retired. We each have two adult sons. So we started a house church, Ekklesia Fellowship House Church-1, in 2022 and are in the process of trying to grow. We are on a quest to recover the pattern, practice, and power of the early Ekklesia (church). We also want to start a network of house churches with similar vision.
